2007 Judging Criteria


Best Tech Media Website

The Best Technology Media Website award will honour the service that best uses the medium of online to serve the information needs of its readers.
A panel of three judges with experience in online technology media will preside over this category.

The four criteria are:
Quality of Content
Stories and articles should be well-written and well-researched showing a high degree of writing skill and flair. A website should be an invaluable information source. Its editorial should be thought-provoking, causing its users to question their thinking and expand their understanding and knowledge. It should be a thought leader to the audience it serves.

Innovation and Use of Technology
A website should be innovative and creative making the best use of up-to-date technology to consistently stimulate its users.

Interactivity and Value
A Website should be interactive and user friendly with a well-developed understanding of its readership and their information needs. It should seek to engage the reader beyond a superficial level and where appropriate develop a sense of community, through its editorial, website, feedback and other activities.

Editing and Production Quality
A website should be visually appealing or at least appropriate for its readership, with graphics that enhance the text, a logical layout, structure, headlines and captions that draw in the reader.


Best Personal Technology Title

The Best Personal Technology Title award will recognise the magazine, newspaper, website or combination of mediums that is most successful in serving users of personal technologies, including home technologies, personal computers, lifestyle technologies and gadgets.

The four criteria are:
Quality of Content
Stories and articles should be well-written and well-researched showing a high degree of writing skill and flair.

Value to Reader
A Title should have a well-developed understanding of its readership and the information needs of its readership.

Production Quality
A Title should be visually appealing or at least appropriate for its readership, with graphics that enhance the text, a logical layout and structure and headlines and captions that draw in the reader.

Creativity
A Title should be innovative, a thought-leader and utilise advanced publishing techniques. It should seek to engage the reader beyond a superficial level and where appropriate develop a sense of community, through its editorial, web site and other activities.

Best Business Technology Title

The Best Business Technology Title award will recognise the magazine, newspaper, website or combination of mediums that is most successful in serving the information needs of CIOs and IT and/or business managers, effectively conveying relevant technology issues in business terms.

The four criteria are:
