Where can I view the agenda?

Click on the following link to see the agenda (http://www.mediaconnect.com.sg/kickstart-program).

Please keep an eye on the web site where we'll post any last minute changes or updates.

What's the dress code?

During the day it's just casual dress. We are on a tropical island and one of the reasons the event works so well is the relaxed and friendly atmosphere – we advise you to leave the suits and ties at home. You are welcome to dress up for the dinners. Thursdays dinner is casual dress, however Friday night’s dinner is the Annual Journalist Awards (www.mediaconnect.com.sg/awards) the theme for the night is Black & White – please feel free to dress to impress !

CLIENTS:

How can I prepare for Kickstart?

If you are presenting, try to think about the following:

· What technologies or trends will become important over the next 12 months and why?

· What technologies or trends will not meet expectations and why?

We are more than happy to chat with you to discuss your objectives so you can get the most out of your time at Kickstart. Please contact Glen Myles on +65 6259 2195.

Please don't hesitate to contact us at any time in the lead up to Kickstart if you have any questions.

Can you give me an overview of the event and sessions?

SESSIONS
IF YOU ARE PRESENTING

· Please ensure you are at the SURIA 1 room 10 minutes prior to your session.

Presentations (50 mins)

· Journalists will be seated towards the front of the room.

· If you are presenting a PowerPoint presentation it is preferred that you email darlene@mediaconnectasia.com with the presentation prior to the event. If you're not able to do this, please get a USB drive containing your PowerPoint presentation to us as soon as is possible at the event.

· Speaking order is based on your seating position on the panel, please choose the spot you require remembering that our analyst speaker will be in the first chair.

· Jeremy Torr from Metia Group is the session moderator and he will introduce the session and the analyst speaker.

· An analyst speaker will present a 10 minute overview of the session area, identifying key trends and issues for the year ahead.

· Please identify yourself, your position and your company. If your company is not well known you might want to say in a couple of sentences what your company does.

· You have 7 minutes to present. Most people choose to speak from their chair, however if you would prefer to speak from the lectern that option is also available.

· If you're using PowerPoint, your presentation will be pre-loaded and you should probably present from the lectern where the laptop will be.

· We advise you to have printed copies of your presentation to hand out, either at the start of the session or during the breakout groups. Media have indicated the prefer to get handouts of all the speeches.

· We recommend that you use your presentation to talk about key trends that will emerge during the year, which you can use as a platform to go into more detailed discussion during your group discussions

· Please ensure your presentation is timed for seven minutes. At 6 minutes, 30 seconds the moderator will ding a glass once and you are requested to wrap up your presentation as quickly as possible. At 7 minutes he will ding a glass twice to let you know that your time is complete. At 7 minutes and 30 seconds he will ask you to stop speaking.

Q&A (10 mins)

· Journalists will then be invited to ask questions to all the panel. They will be asked to direct questions to the panel rather than to individuals.

· Please keep answers succinct. You will be interrupted if your answers use up too much of the Q&A time.

Discussions (60 mins)

· On completion of the Q&A you will each be assigned a table to join.

· You will have 12 minutes with each table. You can use this time, however you please. You can present some additional information, simply take questions, or you could even demonstrate a product.

· At the completion of 12 minutes we will ask you to move to the next table and a MediaConnect representative will point you to the correct table.

IF YOU ARE NOT PRESENTING
You are welcome to attend the first half of each session, for which there will be seats at the back of the room for vendor and PR executives. When the session stops to break into group discussions you will be required to leave. We encourage you to then go next door to the SOROLLA ROOM, where the PR session will begin shortly after.

IN BETWEEN SESSIONS
In between sessions, we have morning/afternoon tea. This represents a good chance for you to mingle with journalists. However, we request your co-operation that when we indicate the session is resuming that you do not keep journalists so as to ensure sessions run on time.

DINNER

· Our gala dinners take place on Thursday and Friday night.

· We encourage you to network, network, network. If there is any journalist you'd particularly like to be introduced to, please grab a MediaConnect staff member at any time.
